8700g - phantom calendar reminder

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone saw this before:
I had an appointment with a reminder at about 3:45 today (appt created on the Blackberry). At the time I was walking around outside with my BB in my bag, so I didn't hit the button. Snoozing is off. Later, when I got to my car, I noted that the red light was flashing, and there was a calendar x1 status indicator on the lock screen.
However, as soon as I unlocked it, not only was there no reminder, there was also no status indicator. The light, however, kept flashing red. Checked my mail, verified that there were no unopened mails. Opened the calendar. Even deleted the reminder on that event. No luck. Turning the BB off from the menus also did not help. I put it away and went to my appointment. Afterwards, the status indicator was still there on the lock screen only.
The only thing that made it go away was to remove and replace the battery and then restart it.
Has anyone else encountered this?
