The web browser comes from your carrier. There was no web browser icon on my home screen when I got my 8700g. When I signed up BB data plan, web browser was automatically installed 30 minutes after activation.

Hope this help.

You might try going in under Options/Mobile Network to make sure that Data Services is set to On and that the Mobile Network is set correctly

hi im new here but i know how to help you, ive had the same exact problem when i got my 8703e but i think all the phones have the same way of getting the browser.

1. go to options-network
2. click on network-a little window will pop up on the top right corner
3. click start provisioning
4. then it will find your network.
5. go back to options-click on advanced options-host routing table-then click on the one that is bolded(keep scrolling till u see it) click on register now and you should have ur browser and everything.

for any further questions just reply and plz say thank you if it worked

You could also try downloading and installing a new browser (Minuet, Opera Mini) through the desktop manager.

This might force your BB to recognize the default browser.

I bought my 8700c with no data plan and i had the browser icon. When i used my brothers sim ( he had a data plan) it would connect no prob. + I would recomend upgrading to the most recent 4.5 os
