If you have a data plan, then you can download OTA (Over The Air). If you dont, then your only other option is to download the .zip file, install the "Desktop Manager" (DM for short) software on your computer, unzip the downloaded zip file, start DM and use the "Application Loader" feature, and finally, navigate the application to the .alx that is located in the zip archive.
