Default How Enable GPS in 8830?

How do I enable GPS in my 8830 World Edition phone? Once enabled do I just use the BB Maps program, or should I use something else?

Thanks,
FishTail

You can use whatever program you like. To turn on the GPS go to options>advanced options>GPS. Hit menu and turn on.

STILL NOT WORKING...

I already turned it on in in the Advance Options. But when I go to the built in BB maps, "Find Location" does not work, and it's options says GPS SOURCE = NONE.

Does the BB 8830 WE come with built in GPS?

Thanks for the help!

Hello, I had that same problem here in Mexico because my service provider (Iusacell) gives out the 8830 with the internal GPS blocked in order to make you buy a GPS service provided by them, so the solution for me was to download the program (free) but not to subscribe for the service, that would enable the built in GPS and I now can use it with any other GPS application.

First of all what Carrier are you with, some carriers will disable the GPS if you do not purchase the data plan.
Secodnly give this a shot.
Download Google maps and follow the setup instructions, then it should ask permission to use your gps select yes and it should activate it, that solved the problem for my Friends 8830.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the tips folks. I was having problems with Mapquest not recognizing my GPS on the 8830. I took your advice, uninstalled Mapquest, and installed Google Maps Mobile. Bingo! It works. Thanks again.
