Heart I got mine...

...from Bell Mobility the first day it came out. [my 8130 went TU about 10 days before and I was suffering withdrawal].

I like it...it looks great, works great [the latest OS...5.0.0.344 downloaded and installed automatically the first time I did a backup]. I really like the trackpad...it's easier to use than the trackball with only a little experience. I'm still getting used to the querty keyboard...I was pretty good with the Suretype/SmartType system on the Pearl.

I'm still getting used to the interface...I downloaded the free Scene theme from Elecite, and while it's pretty, some of the icons are hard to identify at first glance. Also, I set up my two Gmail accounts and for some reason seem to have two icons for each account. I find that the message integration isn't very good, although that may just be that I don't have them set up very efficiently. Also, with the browser app and similar, sometimes the font is _very_ small on the screen. apparently it is the same display you would see on a PC monitor rather than one optimized for a mobile browser. Seeing the Google main query screen shrunk down to the size of a Triscuit isn't so hot.

Dunno what else I can say...I'm still in the discovery process. My next goal is to figure out how to put TV episodes onto the 9700 so I can watch them at work [I have some pretty idle shiifts from time to time].

You can actually change how the browser looks if you don't like the PC look. In browser hit menu>options. Got to browser configuration and change the emulation to BlackBerry. Save the changes. Then go to General Properties and change the page view from page to column. That will give you the standard mobile browser look.

Default New Bolld 9700 is awesome

It looks to me that the Bold 9700 lives up to its pre-release billing. It looks great; its fast and responsive. WiFi and the new battery is a power user's dream. So far I'm thrilled that I made the jump from Verizon (Storm 9530) to T-Mobile. This is definitely RIM's best effort to date. As an early adopter, my next new phone will be BB's hybrid touch/full qwerty keyboard phone that some sites are already talking about for 2010.

After playing a bit with the 9700....sorry.....I'm keeping my 9000.

9700 screen and icons are way too small. Even reading the browser if harder.
Speakers suck on the 9700. Ringtones a lot quieter compared to the 9000.
Keyboard is squished together making typing more difficult.

Going from the 9000 to a 9700 is a downgrade. The 9700 should be part of the Curve series because there is nothing Bold about it.

I am going to wait until next year for the Bold 9900 which will be the same size as the 9000, but will have the trackpad, larger memory and probably by the time it's released, a 6MP camera. LoL.
