Default 8300/Curve Desktop Manager Install Problems

Seems people are having issues with the new TMO/Curve and installing any 3rd party apps or themes. Below are the steps to take which will solve the problem.

Issue: When trying to load applications or themes via Desktop Manager you get an error stating "No additional applications were found for your device".

Resolution: Download the new TMO O.S released for the 8320 found here:

Install the O.S to your PC, plug BlackBerry into usb cable, open DM and run application loader (if not prompted)

**special notes**
i would uninstall any previous BB OS's that you may have on your PC, in add/remove programs in your control panel.

Hope this helps?

Did you install the Curve operating system on your pc. Re-boot the pc and then connect the Curve to the pc via the USB cable?

After opening the desktop manager is should prompt you to update the handheld?

None of that worked?

Could/should but a bit risky...I'd recommend installing only OS versions designed specifically for your exact model

Default No additional applications designed for your Device were found

My BB8320 is 3 days old and still trying to work out all its features. I encountered the above problem yesterday (while trying to upload new themes) but finally solved it after reading alot of useful posts here. Anyway here's what I did
1.Installed BB Desktop Manager from CD (inside package)
2.Googled "Blackberry Device Software for (your service provider)"
3.Download Device Software which matches your unit
4. Install Device Software
5. Open BB Desktop Manager. Check Help. Look under Device Software
6. Make sure your Device version is listed
7. Now do the Application Loader. Add. Find your new theme
8. Now on your BB, check options, theme, you should see your new Theme
...enjoy!

ive got a 8310 and when i first tried to install apps from my pc i received that message "No additional applications were found for your device". i deleted the software that was provided with the phone and downloaded the newest desktop manager which i believe is 4.3. when i did that, everything was good.
