Default number of rings before voice mail picks up

I can never get to my phone in time when it is ringing. I tried to make it ring like 10 times before voice mail but it won't do it on my phone or my voice mail carrier. I am with Verizon. Is there a way to change it on my bb or do I have to take it up with my carrier?

Thanks for the help.

I think u have 2 take that up wit the carrier. My phone use 2 ring only 3xs b4 vmail picked up. I called n2 Alltel n the changed it 2 five rings. I used 2 have another dataphone that gave u the option of changing it thru an option within ur phone settings which was pretty cool but the bb doesn't have that option. Call ur carrier n c what they can do 4 u.

As cebsaj207 said, ring numbers is carrier specific. Some carriers will accept ring numbers other time. For example ATT is based on time, with a maximum of 30seconds, if I am correct.
