Well, think about what a hybrid is. It's a mix of this with that. So, think about your "STOCK" install of BB OS on your phone. Then, think about you having a BB 8320 Curve. Ok, now, think about having some of the things that the BB Storm can do working on your phone.
A Stock release is just that.. What BB releases. The stuff they want to be on their phones. Then the Carriers change em up a bit to fit their needs, but they are still essentially STOCK. Then those really SMART and obviously under worked, and under paid people get these STOCK releases and start changing them. They start incorporating other features, functionality, etc. Then they release their results. These would be Hybrids. At least, my days in the programming field would explain what you are asking about. Since you didn't really elaborate on your question, I am only guessing here.
