Default Latest OS: 8330 4.5.0.188/4.5.0.131 (Multilanguage)

From Sprint; This is for the 8330 model, and will load on any carrier's 8330.

Software For BlackBerry® Curve (TM) 8330 smartphone BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.188 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.5.0.188
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.131
* Software Platform: 3.4.0.25
* File name: 8330uAMEA_PBr4.5.0_rel188_PL3.4.0.25_A4.5.0.131_Sp rint.exe
* File size: 82.03MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download the software here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Instructions for installing either version on ANY carrier's 8330:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

I'm with Sprint and just finished upgrading from 4.3.0.127 to 4.5.0.77 with a US Cellur download. Thank you everyone for your help!

No kidding. This is why the updates say what they are for. You wouldn't have to worry about bricking your phone because the update wouldn't happen as you would be told that it's not designed for you model in the first place.
