Default theme problems on my pearl

I know this question has been asked already but I still cant seem to find a solution.
I downloaded a zen theme on my pearl, my os is 4.2.
I still cant get it to show up in my themes. Although I do find it in my applications.
I have done 3 battery pulls, and still no luck.
Do I need to activate it some other way? Am I doing something wrong?

On you phone go to.

options/advanced options/applications/Blackberry 4.2 Core Applications.

Scroll way down and look for com_plazmic_theme_reader.

If your missing that file then there is the reason.

You will have to install you handheld o.s onto your pc and then plug the phone into the pc and update you phone o.s. That file will be added back to the phone and themes will then work.

I thought I have read quite a few times that theme reader was not needed for the pearl??
No I did not see it there, when I try to view the properties of the core app I get a message that says "Uncaught exception: java.lang.illegalArgumentException"
Am I looking in the right place?
This has happened with 2 themes now that I have tried. So I assume that it would be with any theme.
Where would I find the third # on the core app? When I look in advanced options it just says core application 4.2.

Yes your right the theme reader is built into the core o.s and that is where the file can be seen. If the file is not listed there then when the carrier or (the person) who loaded the o.s onto the phone did not load or install that file.
It does happen sometimes that not all files get loaded (for many reasons) so if that file is not listed there is the reason your having some minor problems.
To fix the issues all you have to do is re-load you handheld o.s onto the phone. All the essential files will be back on and you should be able to read any new 3rd party themes.

To your carriers web site. Download the o.s for your phone and install it on the pc. Re-boot the pc when the install is done.

Then plug in your bb to the pc. Start the desktop manager. It will prompt you to update your handheld and replace the files in which are missing (aka: theme reader file).

Re-boot the phone when done and begin installing new themes.

I'm having the same problem with my BB. I have 4.2.1.96 for AT&T and I see com_plazmic_themereader in my settings.
