Please help me new with the bb no idea how to put apps and such on :(

Hi guys I just got my bb today and it is awesome and now I want to start putting apps on and music and pictures from my computer but wow am I lost. I tried putting the color pearl app on but cant get it. I have read Mr. B's faq (sorry if name is wrong using memory) and still no luck I think im unziping the files wrong but I'm not sure. I also cant get the hang of transferring my music and photos on to my bb. I am pretty good with the computer and thought I could do this since I work on files and such for my games every day but this is something new haha. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the future help

Well you need Desktop Manager installed on your computer...after that simply download the application you want (they usually come in zip files) and unzip them by right clicking on the zip file and selecting "extract" once thats done make sure the files are in the same place somewhere, hook up your phone with the usb cord, and start Desktop Manager. Then, choose Application Loader>browse and choose the .alx file of your applications. Then hit next and wait

When I try to choose the alx. file for the apps it says no additional applications designed for your device was found.

Alright...make sure that you downloaded the right file for YOUR phone...you also need to make sure that you have the latest version of Desktop Manager as well

I know its the right app since its the color pearl which can only be on the 8100 and i downloaded BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.5 not sure if that is that latest or not.

Keep in mind color pearl only works for OS 4.2 not anything higher like 4.3 and 4.5

now os 4.2 wont even open for me lol idk what it is it just says an error has an occurred and must shut down every time I try to run it. And also is a media card needed to put music on the phone?

A you dont need a media card put the device memory will not be very much. You need to upgrade your Desktop Manager to 4.5
