Sorry, there is no program for 8130 that will change the trackball color... the 8130 does NOT have the colored lights under it... IF you can make a solid WHITE light turn into different colors then please let us know (thats impossible, but i would love to hear some suggestions)

well, like b13 said, there is no program for the 8130 that changes the color of the trackball.
but there are other way to change it :P
id rather not use these ways, but if u really want to change it, then u might like to try them.
1. u can use a permanent marker (color of ur choice) to color the trackball.
2. u can color a piece of tape and then put the tape under the trackball.
i dont know how well the second way works, but i believe rollin suggested it and it sounded interesting to me.

why not just use some kind of dye to color the ball? i havent tried it, but it seems like if you can dye the plastic then that'd be the best bet.

No programs because there is a white light under the trackball for the 8130. I think the other ones like the 8110 nd 8120 have the multicolor lights under it.

Chk out you tube, there are plenty of vids 2 show.u how 2 do it there, but wit programming or applications, the 8130 doesn't have the capabilities. I watched my cousin do his wit a perm marker.

Default This is what you do

Remove lights from circuitboard in 8100, solder on 8130, and attempt to install program

Remain reasonably happy you at least have multiple colours behind your indicator led at top of phone.

Use an industrial colour dye and let your ball soak in it for a couple hours.

Make a colour that is hard to achieve with the 8100 (such as orange or yellow) by using a sharpie on the white led

Attach a proprietary led light (with custom auxillary button on side of chrome housing) that feeds off the power source for the led screen (so it shuts off with backlight). It's gotta be small. See this link to PSP customization of shoulder buttons with a blue led. [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Or you could get an 8100!

MY QUESTION:
Does RIM know the amount of people that enjoy the colorpearl and why was it ONLY the 8100?

I like my 8130 would be better with the multi color lights tho. As long as I can change up my themes, n wallpapers, I'm good.
