Default .dcf suffix... anyone know what it means?

Right, so I'm having issues getting my Storm to read some music files saved to the sd card I had in my previous phone. In another thread I posted someone suggested the following procedure: in the Media screen, w Music highlighted but not accessed, hit the menu button and chose explore. From there choose media card, then music. Songs I downloaded from Limewire and emusic show up n play when selected. Pressing the menu button again I get an option to view "Hidden" files n all the songs I'm missing show up. Except I still can't play them. I select a song and the phone is "unable to display media file." I hit the menu again n choose "Properties" and I see a little box that says "Hidden" w a check mark right next to it. It won't let me click that checkmark off.
The files that I can't access have the suffix .dcf. For example, the Avenged Sevenfold song "Afterlife" appears as "Afterlife.dcf" and it won't play. I've 24 songs, about $50.00, that are useless.
Does anyone on this humongous techno savvy site know how to fix this?
