I spoke to Verizon the other day. The technician told me it isnt a rumor, the phone is slated for end of September - early October release.

Its code name is BlackBerry Thunder. Its number is 9500.

I hope we get the Bold in the UK soon

It has actually been laung on the Orange Network, but the rest are still waiting.

As for the Thunder, I hear Vodafone have got sole rights in Europe - bad times for me as i do not like that Network at all.

Si I guess I am gonna have to settle for the Bold

Vodafone owns 45% of Verizon, so it doesn't surprise me that it's coming to Vodafone...

I just hope that it holds to the BlackBerry name. Could care less if it's an iPhone killer, just hope it doesn't tank.

Plus Verizon Tech told me that they are expecting to start a pre-order run in mid - late September.

With this much information out, I highly doubt it's rumored.

Plus in the US it is known as the Storm. Thunder is for the Canada group.

Wow! There is far too much capitalism in the USA. Here in tgr UK, operators sign you up for 12 or 18months but for businesses, it could be 24 months.l but I have not heard of a 3year contract here. Do they expect that phone to be fully functional and ok with the time in 3 year? I will never sign up to any contract that's gonna last more than 12 months as I get bored too easily. I guess you could still buy the thunder when it is launched.

Shame its not going to be on my network, so I will content myslef with the bold. The network I am with have sole rights to the iphone in the UK and I doubt they will sing up to the thunder since it is meant to compete with the iphone. Rumour has it that Vodafone will have sole rights in Europe

I do not think I will bother with the blackberry storm. I have used many touchscreen phones and they are a bit of a pain when you want to send a quick email or text on-the-go with my pearl or curve, I just type them as I go, on the train whilst walking and all that. I find it a lot easier when I have keyboard. I think RIM should stick to their keyboards or maybe have another version of that with a keyboard somewhere.
