I am shocked that I read on this thread that a "tech freak" gave the Storm a NO!!! Granted it was back in February, but I have had mine since the day after Christmas & think it is the best best phone I have ever owned! I am not a "tech freak", but I do switch phones frequently & always go for the best of the best! This phone, once you get past the "getting adapted" aspect, is hands down TOP NOTCH! I think too many people are expecting it to run like a computer. It's a phone with damn near as many options as a computer! This IS my first Blackberry phone, so I can't compare it to other Blackberries, but I have 4 friends that also have the Storm, 2 of which switched from the Curve, & they all love the Storm. I can't keep my girlfriend off of hers! There are little things, such as Quick Pull, that allow you to reset your phone without taking the battery out, that are a neccessity for this phone. And yes, it takes 4 or 5 minutes to reset.....but if you adapt yourself to the little things of this phone.....you should have NO PROBLEMS! A reset can be scheduled with that app to happen automatically, which helps keep your phone running smooth! Sorry for the book, just trying to share what i've learned from my "STORM EXPERIENCE"!!!! Hope this helps!

my bb storm is can be a bit slow at times but that's usually my fault for overusing it LOL. Typing has never been an issue for me. It took me about a week to learn everything and it was a challenge but know that I know how to work it, I could never give it up! Green light from me. LOVE IT...the main thing is that you have to be willing to learn how to use it...it IS complicated and intimidating at first.

I've had the phone for about two weeks. At first, the texting part killed it, as a person who text more than i talk on the phone, i hated texting with the touchscreen and the whole screen clicking thing. Then there was the lagging part, I almost want to give up on the phone and switch back to my old curve instead. However, after i found out why my phone tend to lag from a friend, it is because i purchased the very first batch of phone that came out, my software had to be updated in order to resolve the lagging issue (the phones that come out now, will not have the same issue). So, that worked. As for the texting part, i eventually got used to it. After using the phone for about 2 weeks, i've decided to keep it because partly cause of this site, i am able to find out really coool apps for the phone =) overall, yes! get it!

Cool Green light for the blackberry storm

Its my first blackberry so i have nothing to compare it to, and it has quite a few bugs, as is expected for the first touch screen bb, I love it. The perk out weigh the downfalls. Now that im used to the keyboard, I have a lot of trouble typing on other blackberries. The camera's very slow, but the video camera is good. The screen is nice for watching movies. However, if u use anything other than the phone, keep a plug handy because the battery sucks. BUT I STILL LOVE IT!

Default On the fence

i will try and keep this short and sweet.

I have had the storm for approx 2wks. lemme start off by saying i still need the OS update...if it needs one.
i took advantage for the bogo deal from verizon due to my wife wanting a 'berry. we were previously with virgin and i had the ocean2 ( not a single complaint AT ALL with them or the phone) but my wife again wanted a 'berry so made the switch to the storm as it is the best one that verizon offers. i hate the traditional huge keypad of the norm 'berries so it wasn't a hard decision. now for my brief thoughts.
many things to offer, execution lvl is poor. virtual qwerty versus tradition qwerty poor. buggy still, yes. potential VERY MUCH... as a very mobile person using the web, and txting alot, this still needs some tlc and learning, for my wife, she absolutely loves it. as has been said before, try it...you really need a good week or 2 to give an unbiased opinion, and there are many pros, but just as many cons. this stands to be an AMAZING device, but imo...it will need time. in my situation, wife loves it, and i am still on the fence...too many neg's for me to love it, but that may come in time. again i reitterate...YOU need to try for yourself...after being married for 10yrs. this is one of those things that my wife and i don't agree on...not making it bad or good...just a diff of opinion.
to sum it up:
battery - bad
abilities - great
performance - buggy
touch qwerty - bad (for big fingers)

Obviously there are some things that bother some people more than others and a lot of people are picky for no reason. But Let's cut the shit, honestly. Does the storm get a green light overall?
PLEASE someone give me an opinion on what they think overall.

Typing? once you get used to it, is it as tricky as people say?

Buggy and slow? True? not true?

anyways, if you have a storm and love it, or hate it, let me know honestly before i go out and break my bank to get one.

Thanks, Rick
it has taken some time but i slowly i am beginning to love the darn thing. it does just about everything. recently started adding apps and customizing the home page, etc. If you are already in the blackberry mode of thinking ( by having a previously one for awhile), your learning curve should be shorter. Its a complicated piece of machinery.
