Grrrrrr Battery Drain

Hey everyone, I got a tour a couple of days ago and I love it with the exception of the battery. It is suppose to last over 10days on standby...it doesn't even last 24 hrs with minimal use in 1EV, and brightness at %10. DO a lot of people have this problem...

I have the same problem, but I use mine constantly. About 6 to 8 hours straight before I have to put it on the charger. So I have actually never used stand by really. But the battery life is really low.

I just find it odd because I switched my 8330 curve out for this, and that battery was a marathon runner.

I really haven't seen a difference in battery drainage between this and my old 8830. I can usually get by with 2-3 days use after fully charging and I'm a heavy user (texting, email, browser, games, etc.). Did you cycle the battery when you first got the tour?

Are you using 3G on the Tour? That would drain your battery faster.

i dont think so...I have looked for the 3G option and really haven't seen it...where can it be found? I looked under network connections and only found the GMS, EV, and global options

Guessing your network doesn't have 3G.

If you have Sprint, you have 3G. Its the EV-DO setup. Don't use GSM or global if you aren't leaving the country. Anytime you have the upper case 1XEV, you're in 3G coverage.

*Hint*
Read your manual. It actually goes over what all network coverage you have and tells you the meanings of the network bar.
