Default AT&T and 3G

I have the Bold though AT&T and it is suppose to be on the 3G network, yet I find that it is 99% of the time on the Edge network. I imagine Edge is slower than 3G, does anyone else have this issue? I am on Long Island, so it is not exactly rural.

That's because AT&T lies about their 3G network coverage. I have a buddy with AT&T, 3G phone in the middle of downtown and hour can only pick up the edge signal, not the 3G.

I travel all of Central and South Texas and am always of 3G. Haven't had any issues for 6 months. I also use WI-FI at home and no problems with it either. Have you taken your phone to an ATT service center and had it tested? You might consider that to eliminate a phone issue rather than a coverage issue.

Have you tried changing your Mobile Network settings to only 3G? I did that and my phone stopped dropping to EDGE/GPRS.
