Theme Install Help

Will the 8100 Themes work with the verizon 8130 i cant seem to get them to work. Thanks for any info

how u trying to install them make sure to do a battery pull

Ive been installing 8100 themes exported for 4.2.0 on several 8130 phones and they all seem to work just fine. I even noticed that i did not need to even pull the battery after the theme install.

I did pull the battery out of habbit on the first theme but then i decided to see if the theme would work without a battery pull and much to my amazement it WORKED! I'm not sure this will be the case on all 8130's tho? FYI it was an ota install NOT a Desktop Manger install. Not sure if that will amke a difference either.

If u want a theme, then u can download it over the air, meaning from the internet to ur Blackberry, or u can download the theme "zip file" to ur computer and then hook up ur Blackberry to the computer and install the theme that way.

And yes u need to have a data plan (internet package) to download OTA (over the air) so if u dont have that then ur only option is to do it via computer+usb cable

I don't have the data plan on my computer but i can't open this from my desktop to get to my blackberry, can you help me?

Using your pc do the following:


Install using your desktop manager.


1. Download the zip file to your PC:
2. Unzip the file to a folder (name the folder).
3. Connect your Blackberry to your computer.
4. Open up Desktop Manager –> Application Loader –> Add.
5. Find the file called “ThemeName.alx” and click “OK”.

hey

u dont need a theme reader for 8130. Just download any 8100 themes and then do a battery pull and that should do it

Hi, first I have to say thanks for all of the insight. I have successfully downloaded themes and theme builder for my 8703e which works great. My question is: I carry my BB in pocket rather than a holster, which means I have the keyboard locked most of the time. Can I change the picture that is displayed while the keyboard is locked? Am I right referring to that as my banner? Again, thanks for all of the posts thus far. I hope you can help again.
