Calling all theme builders! Welcome to the very first eVeek Theme Fest contest!
We’re talking $500 in cash giveaways, elecite.com shopping sprees, and more! This is your chance to really flex the graphic design muscle, get creative, wild, and show us watcha got – Vista/Apple/BB Bold rip-offs won’t get you very far 
The contest will end on December 1st, 2008 so if you’ve got the skillz you can walk away with a fat wallet just in time for the Holidays or towards the purchase of new BlackBerry Bold or Storm! (let’s just hope AT&T gets it all sorted by then 
)
Prizes up for grabs:
1st - $400 Paypal USD + $50 elecite.com shopping spree + theme featured on eveek.com
2nd - $100 Paypal USD + $50 elecite.com shopping spree
Judging will be based upon:
a) Creativity – Is it groundbreaking, visually interesting, funny, or just downright cool!
b) Quality – Attention to detail, all elements customized, professionalism, high-quality images used
c) Usability - Effective balance in color and design style, easy to use, icons are identifiable
d) Overall Appeal – Did we like it, or love it? Is the theme attractive?
Submission Guidelines
Themes need to be submitted to the following email address: contest AT eveek DOT com BEFORE December 1ST, 2008.
Email must contain the following information (we will not deal with emails missing any of the required information)

6. Appropriate attached theme files and screenshots all in 1 zip file (.thm files, screenshots, alx AND jad exports)

Rulez
You must be a member in GOOD standing - banned members are not eligible.
All entries must be submitted by December 1, 2008. The winners will be announced sometime in the following 2 weeks and prizes awarded the next business day – just in time for the holidays 
Theme submissions must be in standard BlackBerry screen size formats – Custom Style Only (additional formats such as 480x360 and/or 240x320 will certainly help your chances of winning)
You MUST supply the .thm files for the theme versions compatible with BlackBerry Operating System version 4.2, 4.3 or 4.5.
You MUST supply theme exports in ALX format!
Submitted .thm files must be created using the original Plazmic Theme Builder 4.5 or 4.6 (if officially released) hacking or modifying the application is illegal so any submissions suspected of such cheating or having an unfair advantage will be disqualified.
You must submit screenshots of the theme so that we can show your creation off to the public! An image of the Home Screen, Application Screen, and Menu screen for the 240x260 theme in jpeg format are required.
You may submit up to 2 different themes but only one can end up winning first or second place in the contest – one cash prize per PERSON. Cheating this privilege in any way will result in disqualification.
You may NOT use copyright images or fonts, images of illegal activity, nudity (of any sort), or violence. You will be held solely liable for your submissions.
All submissions become property of eVeek.com, which will retain full rights to broadcast, judge, and market theme submissions. You may not publish your theme anywhere else!
The eVeek ’08 Theme Fest contest is open worldwide. Payment to the winners will be made via PayPal ONLY.
Each winner may need to submit their tax information on contest winnings.
By entering your theme in to this contest (sending required files to contest AT eveek DOT com) you certify that you have complied with and understand the rules of this contest, and will not publish the theme that you have submitted to any other website.
How to kill your chances of winning
Make a Windows, Mac, iPhone, BlackBerry Bold, or any other OS inspired theme - using icons/images from these products platforms really hurts your creativity score!
The dimension theme makes everyone vomit. Using elements (fonts, icons) from this theme in your final submission doesn’t put you in a very good position!
Pixilated/low quality images are major score killers. If you used MS Paint to make your theme, your chances are nearly non-existent.
