I just registered yesterday, but on each of the links of this thread it says to "*Register To See Links*" with the link to the registration page. I'm new to blackberry and have an 8830 and I wanna do some cool stuff with it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It's as when you Upgrade Windows 98 to Windows XP and XP to Vista...

New applications need to run at a BB OS 4.5, or some new themes.

I installed 4.5 from Hong Kong Multilenguaje, and goes perfect! (I'm in Mexico)

Like Rockdrigo said, some new features (some small some big) mainly it runs a little faster and newer apps and themes run off 4.5 OS.

Ok so after i updated to 4.5.0.81 on my 8300 Curve, I was no longer able to open attachments from messages. Any ideas? I tried the app loader to see if there was the BB attachment service, and there wasnt, but everything i read refers to BES when they talk about that. and I dont have a BES.

I found this, hope can help you:

Problem:

Hi I posted a thread a while back about not being able to open attachments on a uses BB curve. I reviewed other articles about how to resolve this issues; firstly resent the service book, which didn't work. I've now just performed a security wipe and re-authenticated with the BES.

Now, it's solved the problem of not being able to reply to emails, but it still won't open attachments. Am I missing something or is there another way to resolve this isssue?

many thanks..
Solution:

I have resolved this issue by completeting the followingactions;
Security Wipe BB device\ re-activate ont he BES\ delete service book Desktop (CMIME)\ remove account on the BES\ re-create account\ reactivate.

After trying eveyrthing else this was a pretty much last resort. And to be honest I wasn't expecting it to work. But it did. So I thought it was worth sharing.
