So...i did the upgrade and everything went perfect. Before instalation, an automatic back up it's performed by DM

- Got the newest platform
- The third party aplications are still there (just need to reconfigure)
- The contacts, messages and e-mail remains intact
- Conectivity it's ok
- Got a new folder for "instant messaging" aplications...COOL!!

Since i used all authorized OS, i didn't have to delete any files before sync. And...i've got DM 4.6

It's all good. THANKS A LOT FOR ALL THE POSTS!!!

I'm about to upgrade myself...so good luck to us all!!

Yep, I did that. Sorry for not mentioning so.
But I did check in my Add/Remove and noticed that the older OS and the newer one was listed.. so I deleted both.. and reinstalled the newer OS and rebooted.

But had no luck.

I also deleted DM and went down from the 4.7 to the 4.6 (since I read that 4.7 has been giving a few people trouble)

And again, deleted the xml.. plugged in the BB and started up DM.. nothing yet.

So my last resort..leave it as is and hopefully they'll be another upgrade that'll work for me.

Remember that deleting the vendor.xml it's a must do ONLY if you have a beta OS or something like a third party OS. And reading your last post, i've got the impression that it's not your case. Get back the vendor.xml from the trash can and try again.

My motto it's this: IF IT'S DEAD...IT CAN'T BEAT ME!!

I can tell that you've tried really hard for this to work...so don't give up!!!...come on...one more shot!!. I'm sure that this time it'll work!!!

hahaha Who would of thought.

But you know what's strange?

I restored the xml file back in the folder.. and had to reboot the PC twice for it to detect my BB Pearl.. then after the second time.. it still would not detect a new OS upgrade.. until I shut down DM, deleted the xml again and started up DM.

Then it detected an upgrade.. strange, no? So it's doing the update right now.. but without the xml file.
That was how I had done the first upgrade from 4.2 to 4.5 before... I had deleted the xml back then also.

I thought if the OS upgrade wasn't from T-Mobile website then I had to delete that file.

Well let's hope this works.. it gave me a long list of new apps that needed upgrading..
I clicked on the details but it shows it's "Downgrading" from 4.5.0.124 to 4.5.0.81??
I thought It was supposed to be an upgrade.. not a downgrade?

That's weird...but i don't see the downgrade. 4.5.0.8 it's more than 4.5.0.1 (no matter the next numbers). So i think the sistem did'nt went to school...hahahaha. Anyway, it's weird but it's working finally!!

And i'm sure that it's an upgrade!!. Help people...it's a downgrade?

(It's kind of hard to reply from the BB...)

I cant seem to download from the official site for my 8707v 4.1.0.355 (platform 3.1.0.17). Does anybody have a different link where I can download the os?

When I download from the official site it cant finish the download process and it just stops for whatever reason.

Been there!!

My experience was that it stoped every time at 5% and then at 8%...al day long. Just keep trying until it works!!...i spend two or three days until the download was completed.

If any the case, tell wich is your carrier and i'll see if i can make some magic hapend

Cheers
