General question:

Is it relevant what carrier are you on in order to check for a suitable upgrade?

Thanks guys

You can go with your carriers upgrade if they have one. But you do not need your carriers. You can download the OS for your device, delete the vendor.xml and load it to your BB.

Did a little search in the RIM site for software upgrade on many countries and carriers. Every time, only one model of the 8700 series apears for download (8700, 8700g or 8700r)

So, mi guess i'ts that any upgrade for an 8700 model works for any of them. You can try one of those, and if any problem occurs, you can always downgrade to the last OS (make sure to have your current OS at hand and to follow the "how to upgrade" thread in the forums...there's all the info you'll ever need)

Senior eveekers...please help with this

Almost the same happend to me and for no reason what so ever. I went to my carriers local office and they gave me a new device, only to discover later, that the OS was upgraded in this new BB Bold. So, problem solved

You should do an upgrade in your device. This procedure seems to solve many issues. At least worked for me that way.

Cheers

It asks for your 10 digit T-Mobile phone number...

So try this and download the OS upgrade: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Remember to follow Mr. B instructions. This upgrade it's for 8700g

Good luck!!
