Got a question fo you all. I have followed the steps to install. I downloaded the 8800 4.5 OS version (I have an 8830) and I installed it to the PC. I see it located in the control panal and everything. I also deleted the "vendor.xml" file as required to ugrade. It then asked me if I wanted to open the DM and I said yes. I plugged in the BBry and.....it syncd like normal. I then tried opening the apploader within the DM and it does not show any software listings or any new upgrades. I cannt even see the check boxes for the other standard 4.2.2 OS that it gave me before. I restarted my computer b/c it said to do that if the new software was going to work. upon rebooting, I made sure the vendor.xml file was not there, and it was?? So I deleted it again and emptyed my recycle bin. I believe there is something missing Im not doing but I do not know what it is. I use the DM 4.5v. any thoughts or suggestions?

how do i find out what verison i have before i install the updated apps or whatever its called?

cool thanks!! i am soooo lost!! i have 4.2 so that means i can update my o/s? the whole updateing software is soooo confusing to me

was it for verizon? sprint? or both? do you know? i know they usually have the same radio on them so it really shouldnt matter but i dont know if this is different for blackberry seeing as how ive been more into the windows mobile side of things haha

Okay. I know how to upgrade the blackberry and what not. The problem that u'm having is that it won't connect to my laptop or computer when I use a usb. Of course this all started after I update the operating system to the 4.2 OS. I've tried looking for the drivers, and the only problem with wiping it, is that itn won't connect to any computer for me to do that. Can anyone help me with this problem?
